Dieser 70m² große, prachtvolle Fußboden schmückte den Festsaal einer Villa im römischen Köln.</p><p>Der Weingott Dionysos feiert hier mit seinem Gefolge: Satyrn und Mänaden spielen Musik – Flöte, Tambourin oder die Leier – und sie tanzen ausgelassen dazu. Auch Tiere, wie Enten, Papageien und ein Pfau begleiten das festliche Treiben. Wohlschmeckende Austern liegen bereit und die Körbe biegen sich unter den Kirschen.</p><p>Man würde zu gerne wissen, was sich hier vor 2000 Jahren alles abgespielt hat – die Figuren vom Mosaik könnten da bestimmt einiges erzählen.
