<p><strong>Kurzbeschreibung</strong></p>
<p>Die Erhebung der Rinderbestände erfolgt als<br />
sekundärstatistische Auswertung des „Herkunftssicherungs-<br />
und Informationssystems Tier“ (HIT). Alle Rinderhalter in<br />
Deutschland sind gesetzlich verpflichtet, ihren<br />
Rinderbestand in HIT anzugeben. In dieser Datenbank sind<br />
die Rindermerkmale auf Einzeltierbasis gespeichert. Die<br />
HIT-Rinderdatenbank war nach der BSE-Krise eingerichtet<br />
worden; sie dient vor allem der lückenlosen<br />
Rückverfolgbarkeit von Rindfleisch vom Verkaufstresen bis<br />
zum Erzeugerbetrieb und der Bekämpfung von Tierseuchen. In<br />
der HIT-Rinderdatenbank werden keine landwirtschaftlichen<br />
Betriebe, sondern viehseuchenrechtliche Einheiten<br />
verwaltet. Das bedeutet, dass zum Beispiel ein<br />
landwirtschaftlicher Betrieb mehrere Ställe für seine<br />
Rinder bewirtschaften kann, die in der HIT-Rinderdatenbank<br />
unter Umständen einzeln als Haltungen geführt werden. Somit<br />
gibt es mehr landwirtschaftliche Haltungen mit Rindern als<br />
landwirtschaftliche Betriebe mit Rindern.</p>
