Kartenlayer Naturräumliche Haupteinheiten

Der Karten-Layer Naturräumliche Haupteinheit kann im Web Map Service Landschaftsinformationssammlung (WMS LINFOS) ausgewählt werden und zeigt die Lage und räumliche Abgrenzung der naturräumlichen Einheiten in Nordrhein-Westfalen. Die Gliederung Nordrhein-Westfalens in Naturräumliche Haupteinheiten berücksichtigt in erster Linie geomorphologische, geologische, hydrologische und bodenkundliche Kriterien, um die Landschaft in größere einheitliche Gebiete aufzuteilen (Regionale Raumeinheiten mit weitgehend einheitlicher Naturausstattung). Politische Grenzen spielen dabei, abgesehen von den nationalen Außengrenzen Deutschlands, keine Rolle.
